Medium Term Financial Strategy 2018-2022 and Budget Book
The Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS), which incorporates the council's efficiency plans, sets out how the council proposes to manage its financial resources in line with current corporate priorities and future challenges the council faces in service delivery.
The Budget Book sets out detailed information on the council's income generation and spending plans. It also includes indicative projections for future years but these may vary depending on a number of factors, such as the level of funding available from central government and also changes in spending priorities, which may be influenced by both national and local issues.

To calculate the tax base for an area, the number of dwellings in each council tax band is adjusted to take account of any discounts, premiums or exemptions. The resulting figure for each band is then multiplied by its proportion relative to Band D and the total across all eight bands is calculated. The tax base is used to determine the level of council tax an authority charges each dwelling.
