Media relations
Lancaster City Council's communications team handles all enquiries from journalists regarding the council, its services and policies.
Journalists can contact the media team on 01524 582044 or email communications@lancaster.gov.uk during normal office hours (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday). The council does not operate an out of hours service, but in the event of an emergency please call 01524 67099.
Journalists can ask to be added to our email distribution lists for news releases by contacting us. Alternatively, all of the council’s media releases are available on our website.

Getting in touch with councillors
The media team can provide comments and arrange interviews on behalf of elected members if they are a cabinet member, chairman of a committee or if they hold a civic position. If you need a comment from a councillor on a ward issue or from a political viewpoint then you need to contact the councillor directly. If you need any assistance with this, we are always happy to help you get in touch with the appropriate councillor.
