Operated by Bulky Matters, a partnership between Lancaster City Council and local re-use charity Furniture Matters, our bulky waste collection service enables you to dispose of unwanted household items AND help local disadvantaged people and the environment at the same time - and it couldn’t be easier to arrange!

Arranging a collection

To arrange a collection:

Details of what, when and where we collect in your area are listed below.

Please check that someone will be at home when we come to collect. We prefer to collect items from inside your property, so that they are in the best condition for re-use, but if this is not convenient, we will collect from outside. If you do need to leave them outside, please keep them covered and dry if at all possible as they may be unable to take items that are too heavy due to being wet.

How much does it cost?

£24 for 1 item, £32 for 2 items, £39 for 3 or 4 items, then £9.50 per additional item.

This charge means we can recondition your old items and sell them on at low cost to disadvantaged families. All income is used to help subsidise this service.
