Submit an Environmental Health service request

Before submitting a service request or complaint, please read our guidance to ensure that we are the right service to help you. 

1. Our services are only available to residents and businesses in the Lancaster City Council district (including Morecambe, Heysham, Galgate, Carnforth and the Lune Valley). 

 If the business or premises you wish to report is outside of our area, or you are not sure which Council to report the business or premises to, please visit GOV.UK - Find your local council and use   their postcode checker to find the relevant local authority

3. Do not use this form to request pest control services, please go to our pest control section.

4. Do not use this form to report accidents, raise health and safety concerns or request health and safety advice, please see our Health and Safety complaints page

5. For issues relating to water quality see the Environment Agency (for river water), and United Utilities (for drinking water queries).

6. When I have submitted my request/complaint I understand I may be contacted by telephone, between 9am and 5pm, by an officer within 5 working days (excluding weekends). If I am unable to be contacted within this time to verify the request/complaint, I understand that my request/complaint cannot be processed.

7. Urgent requests should be telephoned to 01524 582935 and if it is out of office hours (9am to 5pm) please use the emergency out-of-hours number, 01524 67099.

9. I understand that Lancaster City Council is unable to accept anonymous complaints submitted online. Understanding who made a complaint is important to verify the validity of a complaint, assess the seriousness and gather more information to help make decisions.

10. The information that you have given on this form shall be treated as proprietary and confidential. It will only be used within Lancaster City Council for the purpose stated and will not ordinarily be passed to any other parties or retained for any longer than is practically required. The details of persons making complaints is never disclosed to duty holders (Employers/Owners/Managers/landllords/neighbours etc..) Occasionally businesses/managers/neighbours etc. may be able to guess who has made a complaint based on specific details of the complaint. Sometimes your details maybe shared with other law enforcement agencies such as the Health and Safety Executive, the Police, Trading Standards, Food Standards Agency, Environment Agency or the Fire Authority, when it is appropriate and proportionate to do so, please see our Public Protection Privacy Notice for more information.
