Town Hall Tour

Join one of our guides and embark on an illuminating tour of Lancaster Town Hall. Inside you’ll discover the mayor’s official parlour, the council chamber and the impressive Ashton Hall, before being ‘sent down’ from the old courtrooms into the atmospheric subterranean police cells. Along the way, uncover gems including the Olympic torch, Gillow’s centrifugal table, and the Ashton Hall’s grand concert organ. Tour takes approx 1hr.

Facilities and access

Tours begin from the front entrance of the Town Hall at the top of the steps underneath the portico. Pay and display car parks are available nearby. Limited toilet facilities. Some access via stairs during this tour.
