WorkWell
What is WorkWell?
WorkWell is designed to support people with physical and mental health conditions to start, stay or succeed in work.
WorkWell is a free service and is entirely voluntary, it is up to you to decide whether you want to join the programme, and you can choose to leave at any time.
Who is WorkWell for?
To be eligible for WorkWell, you will need to have a health condition or disability and be:
- Employed and struggling in the workplace due to a health condition
- Employed and currently off work due to a health condition
- Recently out-of-work (within six months) and need health-related support to return to work
You will also need to meet the following criteria:
- A home address or address of their GP/local Jobcentre plus within the WorkWell Service area (Lancashire and South Cumbria)
- Aged over 16
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Have a health-related barrier to work
If you are not eligible for WorkWell, there is still employment and skills support within the Lancaster district. Please email: skills@lancaster.gov.uk to find out how other services can help you.
How can WorkWell help you?
WorkWell can support you by connecting you with to the support services that you need to start, stay or succeed in work. This can include:
- A personal assessment of an individual needs to understand what support might work best for your circumstances.
- Personalised, goal-based plans to address your physical, mental wellbeing, and social needs.
- Access to local and community-based work and health support services. This can include physiotherapy, coaching, and access to fitness facilities.
- Support for your employer to understand your needs and advice on how to provide workplace adjustments to support you. We would only contact your employer if you gave your permission for us to do this.
How can I refer myself or someone else to WorkWell?
If you would like to refer yourself to WorkWell please fill out the short self-referral form. Once we have received your completed form, a member of the WorkWell team will contact you within five working days.
If you are an employer or organisation working with an individual and you have their agreement to make a referral, please complete the referral form. Once we have received your completed referral form, a member of the WorkWell team will contact the individual within five working days.
If you are unable to complete the online referral form, you can email workwell@lancaster.gov.uk or telephone (01524) 582000 and ask to speak to a member of the WorkWell team.
Why is this free?
WorkWell is a Lancashire and South Cumbria partnership project, commissioned by the DWP & Dept. for Health & Social Care. Led by the Integrated Care Board (ICB) for Lancashire and South Cumbria, it aims to support those with health conditions and disabilities get into and stay in work.
