About the Park
Welcome to Williamson Park
Welcome to Williamson Park in Lancaster - home to the iconic Ashton Memorial and 54 acres of beautiful parkland with enchanting woodland walks, play areas and breathtaking views to the Fylde Coast, Morecambe Bay and the Lakeland fells. Park attractions include a cafe and shop, Butterfly House (formerly a tropical palm house), and resident meerkats, marmosets, minibeasts and birds.
Opening hours
We are open all year round except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Admission
Entry to Williamson Park grounds and the Ashton Memorial is free.
Entry to the Butterfly House and Mini Zoo (available for purchase at the gift shop):

Accessibility
The Pavilion Cafe, gift shop and Butterfly House are all accessible with smooth solid floor surfaces. Entrance to the minibeast cave is via a ramp. The Butterfly House and gardens have narrow paths but they are accessible to wheelchairs. Access to the ground floor of the Ashton Memorial is via stairs or a lift. Access to higher floors is via stairs only.
There are disabled toilet facilities at the cafe (open all year round) and at Wyresdale Road car park (open April to September).

Williamson Park is only a few miles from either junction 33 or 34 of the M6 and is well signposted.

Road directions
To reach Williamson Park by car: leave the M6 at junction 33 and follow the signs for Lancaster City Centre. Approaching the city centre, turn right at the first roundabout and follow tourist information signs for Williamson Park.
Car parking
There are two pay and display car parks in Williamson Park - at the Quernmore Road entrance (15 spaces, including disabled parking) and at the Wyresdale Road entrance (100 spaces). Please note that from the Wyresdale Road car park there is quite an uphill walk to the park facilities. There is free parking for disabled badge holders with no time limit.

Bus route
The number 18 Stagecoach bus leaves Lancaster bus station, calls at Common Garden Street, then stops at the park entrance on Wyresdale Road. The bus then continues round the park via Grab Lane and stops near the entrance on Quernmore Road.
