Lancaster City Council has received £5.3 million from the UK Government through the UKSPF to invest over the next three years in projects which improve the lives of local people and the economy.

The allocation is split between three core areas, as defined by Government: Communities & Place, Supporting Business, and People & Skills.

Eight local organisations were successful in a first round of grants and applications are now invited for the second.

Councillor Caroline Jackson, leader of Lancaster City Council, said: “We have huge ambitions for our area and the UKSPF will provide a welcome boost to prosperity across our district.

“Our goal is to take a joined-up and collaborative programme, delivered by both the council and local partners in the community, business and public sectors, to create pride in place and increase life chances.

“We’re looking for a wide variety of ideas and proposals that will have a real local impact.”

For an application pack and more details visit our UKSPF webpage.

An online briefing will also take place on Friday February 10 from 10am-11.30am to find out more and an opportunity to ask questions. To register visit Lancaster.gov.uk/ukspf-briefing.

The deadline to apply for funding is Friday March 3.
