BBC Radio Lancashire award ceremony to be held at Lancaster Town Hall

People are being urged to nominate local groups and individuals for this year’s BBC Radio Lancashire Make a Difference Awards 2022, which will be announced in the historic surroundings of Lancaster Town Hall.

But you’ll need to be quick – the closing date is Friday April 29 at 11pm.

Every day we hear stories of people doing incredible things for each other and their communities and now it’s time to recognise them for all their hard work.

There are eight categories:

•       Volunteer
•       Community Group
•       Fundraiser
•       Carer
•       Great Neighbour
•       Key Worker
•       Environment
•       Together award

Councillor Caroline Jackson, leader of Lancaster City Council, said: “I’m delighted that BBC Radio Lancashire will be hosting this year’s Make a Difference Awards at Lancaster Town Hall.

“It would be really lovely to see some local groups and organisations on the winner’s podium. If there is a group or individual you believe makes a significant difference to their community and deserves recognition, please consider nominating them.

“These awards celebrate the work of those groups and individuals who go above and beyond and dedicate themselves to improving the lives of others and I know of many locally that deserve such recognition.”

BBC Radio Lancashire’s Breakfast show presenter, Graham Liver, said: “I’m delighted that we’re bringing the BBC Radio Lancashire Make a Difference Awards to my home city.

“It’s so heart-warming to be able to recognise the vital work of people from right across Lancashire - particularly given the challenging couple of years we’ve had.

“Lancaster Town Hall is such a beautiful, iconic venue and Lancaster City Council have gone above-and-beyond to help us organise the event.”

You can nominate someone you know at bbc.co.uk/makeadifference.

The winners will be announced in an award ceremony at Lancaster Town Hall in September.
