Open day at Beck View Independent Living Scheme
Lancaster City Council’s Beck View Independent Living Scheme is throwing open its doors so residents can explore the benefits of this type of accommodation and enjoy a few early festive treats.
Beck View on Hala Hill in Lancaster is just one of 16 council managed schemes for people over 60. The scheme also considers applications from people aged 55+ depending on their support needs.
The 16 schemes comprise 580 flats and bungalows and can be found in Lancaster, Morecambe, Heysham, Carnforth, Caton and Galgate.
The accommodation is perfect for people wanting to remain independent in their own home but with peace of mind that they are living in a secure and well-maintained property with someone on hand to provide support if needed.
Everyone is invited to find out more by coming along to Beck View between 10am and 2pm on Friday November 26 for a tour of the show flat and facilities on offer.
The council’s Independent Living Team will be on hand to answer questions whilst visitors enjoy free festive refreshments and take part in some Christmas crafting if they wish. Friends and family are welcome to attend and there’s no need to book - just turn up.
Councillor Cary Matthews, Cabinet member with responsibility for housing, said: “If you’re looking for a home that is easier to manage, with no repair or maintenance worries, where you feel safe and make new friends and share life experiences together, then one of our independent living schemes is certainly worth a visit.
“The open day is a great opportunity to find out more about Beck View as well as our other schemes and the different types of accommodation available.”
