Emergency food provision

We’re asking for help from local organisations as we look to create a rapid response team to provide food parcels to local people in need.

The council has set aside emergency funding which will be used to help establish a district-wide voucher system for emergency food. This will cover any charities, community centres, churches, schools and vulnerable individuals and work the same way for everyone to keep a handle on demand.

We are aiming to supply fresh food where possible, either to community centres or direct to people's homes as we receive referrals from our community partners.

As a starting point (and as soon as possible) could any organisations able to refer clients send the following information to lancasterdistrictcovid19@gmail.com

  • Your organisation name
  • Staff contact (s)
  • Contact details (email, phone address)
  • Your logo if possible
  • Details of whether you are currently operating and what those hours are

(Please do not provide these details by commenting on this post for data protection reasons - reply to the email address above)

Once we have this information we’ll be able to pass on more details of how the voucher system will work.
