Result of the Wennington neighbourhood plan referendum

The result of the Lancaster district’s first neighbourhood plan referendum has been announced, with 100% of voters giving it the thumbs up.

Voters in the Wennington Parish Council area went to the polls yesterday to decide if they supported its neighbourhood plan.

Neighbourhood planning gives communities the chance to decide where new development should be and what it should look like. They also help to make decisions on planning applications in that area.

All 62 voters, a 60.19% turnout, voted in support.
