Drop in to affordable housing open day
Lancaster City Council is inviting residents on the lookout for affordable rented housing in the Lancaster district to join its Housing Options Team at a drop in session taking place next week in Halton, near Lancaster.
Come along to the council’s newly refurbished bungalow at 2 Pennystone Road in the village on Monday, June 25 between 10am and 2pm to learn more about the range of social housing currently available to rent from the council and other providers including housing in rural areas. Council staff will on hand throughout the event to answer any questions and help people complete application forms. Refreshments will also be available.
Applications for all types of social housing are currently being invited from anyone who has worked or lived in the Lancaster district for the past three years or have close family who have lived in the district for more than five years. This applies to those who are working, retired, single, have a family or currently in private rented accommodation.
Anyone who wishes to apply for rural housing in the social sector must also have a connection through work, family or already live in the village.
There’s no need to book for the open day but if you like what you see and might want to apply for housing at the event, you should bring along ID for yourself or your family, proof of current address, proof of income/benefits including child benefit and tax credits so that your application can be processed.
If you cannot make the event and interested in knowing more, visit www.idealchoicehomes.co.uk, call the council’s Housing Options Team on (01524) 582005 or send an email to idealchoicehomes@lancaster.gov.uk
