Message of condolence - Right Worshipful Mayor of the City of Lancaster

In response to the recent events in London, the Right Worshipful the Mayor of the city of Lancaster, Coun Robert Redfern, said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by yesterday’s horrific attack and their families.

My deep condolences go to those who died and I wish all those who were injured a speedy recovery.  The bravery of the emergency services and ordinary members of the public who put their own lives at risk to rush to the aid of the injured is a reminder of the true spirit of the British people and that those who seek to sow division and hatred will never win.”

The Union Flag is flying at half-mast from Lancaster and Morecambe town halls as a mark of respect to all those affected by yesterday’s events in London. Staff from Lancaster City Council also participated in a minute’s silence.
