When you log in, your first create a household. You then must complete a housing application form. If you have only answered questions about your contact details, household members and address then you have not completed a housing application form. If you are not sure, you can ring 01524 582005 and ask them to check.
If you have only created a household on the website, you will need to complete the housing application form by clicking on the link ‘my social housing’ from your account page. The Customer Service team can check if you have made an application or just completed an application.
If you have completed a housing application, go to the next question.
If you have not, then your housing application form has not been processed yet by the Ideal Choice Homes team. We process housing application forms in date order of being received and once it has been assessed by the team you will receive a deferred letter advising you of what documents you need to provide for your housing application form to proceed. If you have provided an email address, we will email this to you. If you haven’t provided an email address we will post this to you.
The Customer Service team will be able to advise you on waiting times for applications to be processed.
If you have received a deferred letter, go to the next question.
We can not assess your application until your have provided all the documents requested in your deferred letter and we would advise that you provide them as soon as possible. You can bring these to Lancaster or Morecambe Town Hall or email them to: challocations@lancaster.gov.uk
If you have provided your documents, we process documents in date order of being received and your documents will be assessed in due course and once this has taken place, we will notify you if you need to provide any further information.
The Customer Service team will be able to advise you on waiting times for documents to be processed.
If your application is made active, you will receive a registration letter in an email or via the post to confirm that your application has now been made active and that you are able to start bidding on properties.
