Lancaster City Council to be headline sponsor of North Lancashire Expo

Lancaster City Council is pleased to be a headline sponsor of this year’s North Lancashire Expo.

Taking place on Friday and Saturday September 20 and 21, the event will see 110 businesses and thousands of visitors visit Lancaster Brewery to take part and showcase North Lancashire.

The Friday of the event is a business showcase with exhibitors, stands and talks, with the Saturday being more of a family day, with a focus on skills and training.

Lancaster City council will have a presence of both days with its economic development team who will be able to advise on its business support offer, sites and premises for business, Lancaster district skills initiatives, pre-application planning advice, and how to get involved with the UK Corporate Games - coming to Lancaster in 2020.

Salt Ayre Leisure Centre and the council’s pest control service, Unbugged, will also be in attendance.

The Expo is organised by Lancaster and District Chamber of Commerce. The intention is that it should represent the ever-growing co-operation of businesses around the Morecambe Bay Economic region.

Coun Tim Hamilton-Cox, Cabinet member with responsibility for economic development and regeneration, said: “The city council is proud to be sponsoring Expo and celebrating the vital role of local businesses. It promises to be a great event.”

The Expo will also give people the chance to find out more about the plans to bring the Eden Project to Morecambe.

Si Bellamy, OBE, Head of Eden Project International, will be chatting to exhibitors and visitors, as well as giving a talk on Saturday afternoon on the positive impact it will have on the whole district.
