It has been shortlisted for Spa of the Year at the 2020 English Hair and Beauty awards. This annual event recognises tireless individuals and teams, whose sole aim is to provide their customers with impeccable services, innovative treatments and bespoke advice.

Simon Kirby, head of community involvement and leisure at Lancaster City Council, said: “Being shortlisted for this award is well-deserved recognition for the exceptionally high standards we keep and the excellent service provided by our staff.

“The spa is an integral part of the £5m redevelopment of Salt Ayre and our goal of creating a leisure destination that has something for the entire community to come along and enjoy.”

Trophies will be handed out an awards ceremony on Sunday March 1 in Manchester.

A spokesperson for The English Hair and Beauty Awards added: “The finalists of the English Hair and Beauty Awards 2020 represent the industry’s gold standard who work hard to meet and satisfy the demands of their clients.

“The awards will showcase the best experts that England has to offer, whose excellence and commitment have listed them among the top contenders of this year’s awards.”

Tranquil Spa was developed as part of the wider redevelopment of Salt Ayre and opened in 2017.

Other new facilities in the centre include an immersive cycle studio and functional training suite.
