Ever fancied running your own business but don’t know where to start?
Lancaster City Council’s markets in Lancaster and Morecambe are offering a number of opportunities for budding local entrepreneurs to launch a new business or expand on an existing one with free and discounted rates for pitches and stalls.
Festival Market, Morecambe
New for 2016 – Vintage Corner - free space on offer
Traders in all things vintage, are being invited to be a part of a brand new venture launching in Spring this year when the market will be introducing a new section dedicated to the sale of vintage wear, accessories and other items.
Vintage Corner is schedule to open in time for Easter and both established and new small businesses are being offered a portion of the new space for free until the end of April followed by a rental of just £25 a month for three months thereafter, then £50 per month for a further 3 months. The new Vintage Corner is set to open on Thursday, March 24. Space is limited so anyone interested in taking up space should contact the markets team as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Discounted rates for general traders
For just £50 per month for the first three months, traders who take up a stall at the market before the end of May with a new commodity will be able to get off to a flying start and look forward to summer trading.
Assembly Rooms Emporium - rent a pitch from just £16 per week
Located on King Street, Lancaster, the Assembly Rooms Emporium is on the hunt for new stallholders who can introduce exclusives to the mix of unique items on sale in this beautiful 18th century building.
The emporium which is situated on the ground floor of one of Lancaster’s historic Grade II listed heritage buildings is open Tuesday to Saturday and space is currently available to let from a mere £16 a week. Commodities on offer currently include period, retro and alternative clothing, accessories, knitted goods, books and games, and artwork.
Charter Market, Lancaster - free pitches
If you’d prefer to trade in a bustling outdoor environment every Wednesday and Saturday in the heart of Lancaster City Centre, then the historic Charter Market might be the answer.
Free pitches are currently available for the first six months in the Church Street section of Lancaster’s historic Charter Market for new traders who can bring something different and exciting to this busy street market.
