Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Case Review
What is the ASB Case Review?
The ASB Case Review is a formal process that allows victims of persistent anti-social behaviour to request an independent review of how their case has been handled by local agencies. This includes Lancaster City Council, Lancashire Police, registered housing providers, and health services.
It is designed to ensure that agencies work together to resolve ongoing ASB issues when previous reports have not led to satisfactory outcomes.
Who can request a review?
- Any victim of anti-social behaviour.
- A representative acting on behalf of the victim (e.g. family member, carer, councillor, MP, or professional).
- Note: Consent from the victim should be obtained if someone is acting on their behalf.
When can I request a review?
You can request an ASB Case Review if one of the following thresholds is met:
- Three or more complaints in the last six months about the same issue.
- Five individuals have complained about the same or similar incidents in the last six months.
- One incident motivated by hate in the last six months.
What happens after I submit a request?
- Initial Screening
Your request will be assessed to determine if it meets the threshold. - Multi-Agency Review Panel
If the threshold is met, a panel of relevant agencies will review the case and how it was handled. - Outcome Notification
You will be informed of the panel’s findings and any recommended actions. - Second-Stage Review
If you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you may request a further review.
